Member share tips for clean water

We Love Clean Water

For Valentine’s Day, ACWA Members showed their loved for their waterways and shared tips on how others can take action for clean water. See our social media (FB and Insta) for all our member’s Valentines with their suggested action, including:

• use a rain barrel to water your garden

• plant trees to cool our waterways

• pick up litter while kayaking

• plant clover instead of using lawn fertilizers

• choose native plants to clean stormwater runoff

• embrace the weeds & avoid lawn chemicals

• sweep up extra salt after snow storms

• limit use of plastics and recycle when you can to keep trash out of streams

• organize stream cleanups and pull trash out of our waterways

• don’t use salt on driveway or walkways

• help monitor streams with ACWA

• clean up after your dog

• help plant seedlings for tomorrow’s trees!
