The MD Forest Service’s Backyard Buffers program is designed to assist homeowners who have a waterway on or adjacent to their property to create a streamside buffer of native trees and shrubs. Each year registered homeowners receive a bag of native tree and shrub seedlings for planting on their own property.
What’s in the Bag?
A “buffer in a bag,” 30 tree/shrub seedlings suited to streamsides and wet areas. See species list in the handout.
