Join the ACWA Board of Directors
ACWA, Inc. is a not-for-profit (501C3) corporation dedicated to the promotion, protection, and restoration of the Antietam and Conococheague Watersheds. The organization works in cooperation with volunteers; civic groups; non-government organizations; and local, state, and federal agencies.
We are looking for new Board of Director (BOD) members who are passionate about local environmental stewardship. BOD members to serve with other coordinating the events of the organization, ensuring the By-Laws are followed, and representing ACWA in a manner that reflects the mission and values of the organization.
• ACWA BOD members serve for two years. No limit to the number of terms served
• BOD members should be current members of the organization.
• BOD member must review the Organizational By-Laws. It is the role of the BOD to ensure the organization is operated following the By-Laws and all regulations governing not-for-profits.
• Meetings are generally quarterly, but special meetings may be called. See By-laws for expectations for attendance.
• Participating in standing committee is highly encouraged. An engaged Board is an effective one.
• BOD may attend one professional development event per year, paid by the organization, up to $100/year. The professional development must be of topic that will benefit the organization.
