UPDATE: C&O NPS has cancelled this event until further notice.
Tree Planting with the C&O Canal National Historic Park. Park Staff are requesting volunteer assistance to plant the first small grouping of 20 trees along the towpath. Volunteers will need to walk to the planting location and dig holes for the small seedlings. The group is limited to 8 volunteers, so please email to reserve your spot to help and to be notified of schedule changes.

Help repair damaged tree tubes at local County Park
Help pot up hundreds of rescued native tree/shrub seedlings for future projects
Volunteers are needed to help in the Monarch Waystation Garden located at Kiwanis Park, Hagerstown. Over 90 plants need to be replaced, general maintenance, and watering will occur.
Bring gloves, small hand tools, and own drinking water.
Meet at the Park lot. If lot is full, park at the entrance in the industrial park area.
Hosted by the Monarch Alliance/Potomac Valley Audubon Society.
ACWA volunteers will be assisting MD DNR, the Town of Hancock, and local girls scouts in planting trees along the Maryland Rail Trail & Joseph Hancock Memorial park.
Meet at the Western MD Rail Trail/Hancock Town Parking Lot, next to “Buddy’s Lou’s Eats, Drinks, & Antiques”. You can use this google maps link to navigate there. We will walk a short distance along the Rain Trail to planting locations.
Wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a reusable water bottle. Bring work gloves, if you have them. We will have work gloves (adult and child sizes) to lend out if needed, and provide shovels and other tools for volunteer use.

Help collect Trash along Hamilton Run
Help plant large caliper trees at the Doubs Woods Park, Maryland Ave, Hagerstown.
Starting at 10 am we will be helping Washington County Government employees plant, stake, and cage up to 50 large trees in the Park.
Gloves and tools will be provided. Please bring your own water bottle.

Join the Washington County Clean County Initiative and the Town of Williamsport on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for a joint clean-up event. The clean-up event will be held at Bottom River Park.
